iOS 8.1 Update Not Working on iPhone 4S: Solved Problems and Issues

It seems that the most ambitious operating system from Apple on tablets and iPhones is doomed with petty problems especially for older devices. iOS 8.0 was rolled out last month, hours after which Apple had to come up with a patched version iOS 8.0.1 to help users deal with common battery and network issues.

Still many users had problems with their network reception and overall performance, citing which Apple rolled out iOS 8.0.2. Things improved, but Apple still had to go a long way from that and that's precisely when iOS 8.1 was introduced this Monday. Although it is better known for Apple Pay inclusion, engineers believe that they have dealt with most of the performance issues. Unfortunately, users of iPhone 4S are still in worries with this new update creating several problems from WiFi connectivity to cellular data loss.

Battery Drain

iPhone 4 S users who believe that this new operating system update is sucking a lot of battery out of the system, test the battery life on standby mode or flight mode. Once you ensure that battery is performing well that way, a complete reset should help. Also, kill the applications running in background.

WiFi, Bluetooth, and Reboot Issues

Having troubles connecting through WiFi? It's a common iOS 8.1 glitch with rather simple solution. Use Settings > General > Reset on all the network settings to improve performance. It should also work with Bluetooth problems and random reboots if you reset all the settings.

Keyboard Lag

Cellular Data Problems    

iPhone 4S users who have just updates will definitely find it helpful. It can be frustrating but you need to turn off the 3 G for a while and then cellular data. Turn it back on and everything should work fine. You should also keep the phone on flight mode for a while before connecting to network services.
